One of the more unconventional but extremely popular draws for tourists is the White Turf in St. Moritz. The White Turf is for all those who crave for an adventure. We aren’t talking about skiing or any such conventional sport that you can think of. We are talking about International Horse Races on Snow which is a one of a kind in the entire world. For more than a hundred years, ever since 1907, the White Turf has hosted jockeys and thoroughbreds from all across Europe and from around the world to compete in one of the toughest races to have ever been conceived.

White Turf is hosted at St. Moritzersee, St.Moritz in Switzerland. If you are considering going in February when the event is organized every year, consider Luxury Hotel St.Moritz as you need the comfort and luxury of prized establishments.

Engadin´s largest horse racing event plays out on the frozen Lake St. Moritz. The event is held on three consecutive Sundays in February. In 2016, the races would be held on 7th, 14th and 21st of February. The race also features skijoring which is a visual feast specially devised to pump up your adrenaline. Jockeys hooked to un-mounted horses are pulled at a galloping speed of more than fifty kilometers an hour.

The one to accumulate the most points over the three Sundays is crowned as the King of the Engadin. Are you up for galloping horses on flatbeds of spraying snow, thundering hooves and a backdrop that you are accustomed to seeing in movies? Well, you know what your destination should be next winter.
